Most people see a nightly rate, multiply it by the number of nights and assume that's the bill. It rarely is. Here is what Bengaluru owners are paying in 2026, and the extras that turn a ₹1,000 quote into ₹1,500.
What it costs per night
| Type of stay | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Budget boarding | From around ₹500 a night |
| Home boarding, in someone's house | ₹800 to ₹1,200 a night |
| Kennel or boarding facility, standard room | ₹1,000 to ₹1,800 a night |
| Premium: AC private room, webcam, pick-up | ₹1,500 to ₹2,500 or more a night |
| Daycare, no overnight stay | ₹500 to ₹1,000 a day |
Four things move the price within those ranges:
- Size. Many boarders charge 20 to 30 percent more for a large dog and 30 to 50 percent more for a giant breed, so a Labrador often costs more than a Beagle at the same place.
- The room. A shared play area with a crate to sleep in is cheaper than a private room. Air-conditioning adds to the price, and it's worth paying for in April and May if your dog has a heavy coat.
- Attention. Two walks a day, one-on-one play and regular photo updates all take staff time, and that ends up in the rate.
- The calendar. Diwali, Christmas to New Year and the April to June school holidays are peak season. Rates go up, some places insist on a minimum stay, and the popular ones are full weeks ahead.
The extras that add up
Ask for the total for your exact dates, in writing. A WhatsApp message is fine.
Send these before you book, and ask for one figure that covers all of them:
Hi, I'd like to board my dog from [date] to [date]. He's a [breed], about __ kg. Could you send me the total for those dates, including food, pick-up from [area] and any other charges?
What they'll ask you for
If a place doesn't ask about vaccinations at all, ask what it requires of everyone else's dogs, because yours will be sharing air and play space with them.
Home boarding, a facility or a sitter
| Option | Suits | Ask |
|---|---|---|
| Home boarding | Dogs used to living indoors, older dogs, dogs who dislike big groups | How many guest dogs at once, does the host have pets, who is home overnight |
| Boarding facility | Confident, sociable dogs who like routine | Where will my dog sleep, does anyone stay on site at night |
| Sitter at your home | Anxious or elderly dogs, since nothing around them changes | Per visit or per night, and who has the keys |
Sitters in Bengaluru usually charge per visit or per night. Our walkers and sitters listings are a good place to start.
Try one night first
A daytime visit followed by a single night costs a little extra and tells you a great deal: whether your dog ate, how they seemed when they came home, and whether the updates arrived when promised. Our boarding checklist has the questions to ask on that first visit.
Where the boarding is
We list 77 boarding and daycare services in Bengaluru, spread right across the city. There's a noticeable cluster around Electronic City, where there's room for bigger facilities, and a handful in J P Nagar and Basavanagudi too.
Common questions
