When a dog in Noida needs blood, the hospital treating them is your first call. Blood has to be typed or cross-matched and the donor has to be screened, so a bag or a dog offered by a kind stranger is only useful once a veterinary team says it is safe for this patient. No Noida hospital publishes a dog blood bank or a donor register. Two chains with clinics here list blood transfusion as a service, and the nearest hospitals that name it outright are in Delhi and Gurugram. Either way, expect to help find the donor dog.

If your dog needs blood now

Ask the hospital four questions, then look for a donor that fits what the vet asked for.

Call the hospital treating your dog and ask:

  1. Does my dog need whole blood, packed red cells or plasma?
  2. Can you transfuse here, and have you typed or cross-matched my dog?
  3. What kind of donor do you need: age, weight, anything else?
  4. If you can't transfuse, should we move to Delhi or Gurugram, or bring a donor here?

Then look for the donor yourself. Ask your society group, your dog-walking friends and local dog groups for a dog that fits what the vet said. Most requests are for a healthy, vaccinated dog between one and eight years old, and the bigger the better: a Labrador, a German Shepherd, a Golden Retriever or a large Indie.

Keep the hospital as the meeting point. Don't arrange a private collection, don't move blood between homes, and don't post your home address or your dog's medical records in public groups.

Who to call in Noida

Two chain clinics that list transfusions, one of them open all night. Then Delhi and Gurugram.

  • Vetic lists blood transfusion among its emergency services in Noida, without naming a clinic. Its Sector 49 clinic is open 24 hours. Its Sector 20 and Greater Noida clinics open 10 am to 8 pm.
  • SKS Veterinary Hospital lists transfusion medicine for critical cases across its chain, without naming branches. Its Sector 45 hospital is open 9 am to 9 pm.

Neither says which branch transfuses, so phone and ask "can you transfuse a dog today?" before you move yours.

If neither can, these are the nearest hospitals that name the service:

  • Delhi: Doggy World in Rohini, which is open 24 hours and keeps its own donor dogs, and Dr Choudhary's Pet Clinic in Anand Niketan. Both are in our Delhi blood guide.
  • Gurugram: The Élite Vets in Sector 45 keeps a donor registry and is open 24 hours, and four more clinics list transfusions. They are in our Gurugram blood guide.

A move across NCR in traffic is hard on a sick dog, so let the vet decide whether to travel or to bring a donor to you. At night, our 24-hour vets in Noida guide lists who is open.

Why dogs need blood

India's national blood-bank guidelines list the main reasons: severe anaemia, very low platelets, clotting disorders, serious injury with heavy bleeding, and anaemic dogs who need surgery. Tick fever is one way a dog gets there, because the Babesia parasite destroys red blood cells. Our tick fever guide explains the signs.

Before you offer a donor dog

The treating vet decides whether a donor is suitable after an examination and blood tests.

India's August 2025 animal blood-bank guidelines describe a donor dog as one to eight years old, healthy, calm, vaccinated including rabies, regularly dewormed, free of tick-borne disease, and not pregnant or recently lactating. Minimum weight depends on the dog's size: 5 to 7 kg for small breeds, 15 to 20 kg for medium breeds and 25 kg for large breeds.

The same guidelines require a health exam, medical-history review and blood screening before donation. They give 15 to 20 ml per kg as the safe collection range and at least one to two hours of observation afterwards. Compatibility testing is a veterinary decision: the document notes that cross-matching is not normally required before a dog's first transfusion, but recommends it after a previous transfusion. Let the treating vet decide what this patient needs.
